CEO
Josep Antoni (Pep) studied at the Superior College of Industrial Engineers in Barcelona (ETSEIB) – part of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and in 1998 he earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree in MEP engineering.
His profesional career began on the front line working as site manager and later as Technical Director for several construction companies in both the private and public sector.
In 2002 he created the Company Enginyeria I Urbanisme where he and his partners designed and directed numerous projects around the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and southern Spain.
In 2008 he created GNGRUP where he specialized in Project and Construction Management of hotels and high end real estate. He is currently CEO of GNGRUP in Spain and LATAM.
He completed postgraduate studies in Real Estate and Hotel Investment at Cornell-University in Ithaca, New York.
He is a certified expert in Feasibility and Financing of Real Estate Projects by the Real Estate Business School (REBS).
Project Manager PMP® certified and associated with the Project Management Institut PMI® and the American Society of Value Engineering SAVE International, he is certified in PM2 essentials by PM2 Alliance and certified Scrum Master and Product Owner by EuropeanScrum.
He is a member of the building and urban agenda commission and of the international committee of TECNIBERIA.
He is a guest lecturer in the Project Manager postgraduate course at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and in the Corporate Social Responsibility course at the UIB Faculty of Tourism.
He is certified as a BREEAM® Associate, certified WELL AP® (Accredited Professional) and certified by TÜV Rheinland in carbon footprint calculation and management.
He has participated in numerous courses and seminars and is currently a speaker at Project Management and Sustainability courses and webinars.
He is the coordinator and head of the Sustainable Tourism Commission of the Spanish Association of Scientific Tourism Experts (AECIT).
He is a member of the Board of Directors and in 2021 he was elected treasurer of the Spanish Association for Integrated Project Management (AEDIP).
COO & PMO
In 1997 Joan graduated from the Technical College of Industrial and Technical Engineers (EUETIB, part of the polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC) with a Bachelors Degree in MEP engineering.
Furthering his studies at the university of La Rioja in 2002 he graduated with a masters degree in MEP engineering from the Superior College of Industrial Engineers.
That very same year he created the Company Enginyeria I Urbanisme along with two other partners. As head of design his role within the Company led him to direct numerous projects throughout Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.
In 2008 GNGRUP was formed and Joan specialized in Installation Design for hotels and high end residential building projects. He is currently Director of Operations for GNGRUP throughout Spain. Passionate about his field of work Joan continues to participate in courses and seminars keeping abreast of all the latest and innovative technologies.
Associated with the Green Building Council Spain (GBCe) and is a certified specialist in environmental assessment of VERDE Omega GBCe buildings, he is certified as BREEAM® Associate and certified by TÜV Rheinland in carbon footprint management and calculation.
Board of Directors
Founder of the multinational ESTEL Ingeniería y Obras in 1995. For twenty years he led its international expansion, participating in the execution of more than 700 hotels around the world. In 2015 he capitalized on his holdings and, following his entrepreneurial spirit, created Gomila Group Investment, a Family Office that focuses its activity on medium-sized companies with innovative models and international expansion strategies. This Mallorcan businessman stands out for his firm commitment and active participation in civil and business society in his homeland (President of the ParcBIT Business Association, President of the Innovation Commission of the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Metacluster IBCluster , among others). During his professional career, he has been distinguished with several awards, highlighting: Best Entrepreneur Award of the Balearic Islands by Joves Empresaris, Case of Success by Expansión magazine and the nomination for the 2012 European Business Award by Spain.
He is currently the president of FEVITUR (Spanish Federation of Tourist Housing and Apartment Associations).
Advisory Board Member
Santiago de Torres Sanahúja (Barcelona, 1955), a doctor by training, has extensive professional experience in the field of management, both public and private. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he specialized in Clinical Pharmacology at this university, where he taught. He was also Head of the Drug Addiction Section of the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona.
Between 1985 and 1994, De Torres held different public positions in three ministries, during the PSOE governments. First, he was general director of the National Plan on Drugs (Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs). Two years later, he would occupy the position of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and a year later the same position in the Ministry of Social Affairs. Later he worked as an advisor in the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, expert in the General Secretariat of the European Commission and delegate of the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Madrid.
In the private sector, one of the professional axes of the president of Alianza has been and is the most cutting-edge innovation in the development of medicine. Currently, he chairs the companies Atrys Health, Althia and e-Diagnostic, dedicated to Telemedicine. He is also the chairman of the biotech venture capital fund Inveready Biotech. In addition, he is part of various advisory boards of companies in the health, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and consulting sectors. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Digital Health Association.
This professional vocation is parallel to his dedication to the world of culture and solidarity. He belongs to the patronage of the Reina Sofía Museum, the Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona and the Fundación Santa María la Real, dedicated to the preservation of the Romanesque. Regarding the field of solidarity, he has been part of the management of Doctors of the World and is currently vice president of the Pasqual Maragall Alzheimer International Foundation and now president of the Alianza por la Solidaridad Foundation.
