Inauguration of Hacienda del Mar, member of Meliá Collection

The Costa del Sol now boasts a hotel from The Meliá Collection, the brand that brings together unique hotels within the Meliá Hotels International portfolio. The company, led by Gabriel Escarrer, is thus reinforcing its commitment to the luxury segment in Andalusia with the opening of Hacienda del Mar, a renovated property in Estepona that begins a new chapter under Meliá’s unique hotel brand.

Located on the Mediterranean coast and surrounded by 45,000 square meters of gardens, the hotel features 131 rooms and suites, direct beach access, three outdoor pools, a spa, and several dining options. The property, originally opened in 1999 under the patronage of Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe, now joins The Meliá Collection portfolio as part of Meliá’s strategy to strengthen its presence in high-end holiday destinations.

Hacienda del Mar begins a new chapter in Estepona following its renovation and integration into The Meliá Collection, Meliá Hotels International’s brand of unique hotels, which is making its debut on the Costa del Sol. This brand brings together distinctive hotels within the company’s portfolio, with properties associated with buildings, locations, or destinations that possess a unique identity.
